I was torn between average and above but since I had the trip of a lifetime I would give the cruise part more credit. This was my 4th time on the Escape. The itinerary for this cruise was an awesome intense 9 day port filled adventure. Any shortcomings with the ship was forgiven by the awesome ports.

This was a blended cruise. A portion of the passengers started in Barcelona and a portion joined them in Rome. This was the beginning of NCL starting this and while there were some hiccups, it was nothing that impacted the cruise overall, but there were passenger inconveniences. If you joined the cruise in progress you didn’t get the benefit of a sailaway party and it didn’t have that special embarkation feel. Also, the communications need to distinguish where appropriate between the two groups.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Visited La Sagrada Familia and did a hop on, hop off….wish we had more time

Florence (Livorno)

You have to get out of the Port area by shuttle or by taxi, if they are available. Or you can do a NCL excursion. Florence and Pisa was awesome. Would recommend doing an overnight here

Ibiza

Did the Beach here….vert nice
