We enjoyed this cruise so much. Everything was great. Our room (12029) was a balcony on the 12th deck between the bow and mid section. Rooms were very clean and the wife kept saying how nice the bed and sheets were. What a sight to see as we were coming into a port while we were getting ready for breakfast. I was thinking about getting an inside room, but I would definitely go for the balcony room again. The buffet breakfast was great with so many things to choose from, more than you could eat and everything was hot, juice and coffee were free. We ate so much that we didn't need a lunch. The lunch buffet was also great, again with so much to choose from. The ship was beautiful and the shows should not be missed. Shows started at 9:00pm and were about 1:15 minutes long. The swimming pools were done up nicely, and they had a adult only pool too. We never got a chance to visit the night clubs because by 10:30pm we were tired from all the sightseeing and getting up early for the next days port. We did get to the casino on the last night, very nicely done, didn't win nothing. As for dinner, we were assigned to the first seating at 7:00. (Very elegant) On formal night, a sport coat and tie is fine and a dress for the lady is okay. Some people went all out with a tux and some came with just a nice shirt. You can order anything off the menu, several varies to choose from. For desert we ordered 2 of each for each of us. The food could use a little spice. We also ordered items that were not on the menu with no problem. Also you get 7 vouchers for a free bottle water with your dinner. All other water and drinks you have to pay for. What we did at the buffets is get free water from the ice machine. Two of the nights we ate in the Santa Fe restaurant and had the steak which was very very good. Tips are added to your final bill, so much per person per day. So no tipping is necessary while on board. I tipped our room stewart a few extra $$ because on the second night I asked him where the ice machine was. He went and got the ice for us. From that day on when we would arrive back from sightseeing, there would always be ice waiting for us in the room. All of the staff people were very nice. Overall we were very pleased with the whole cruise and all the ports that we stopped at. We would love to do it again. One other thing...we didn't take the cruise excursions they offer....too expensive. We found the best way to see everything was go to a tourist information center and hop on a sightseeing bus. They are cheaper and you can usually hop on/off at different stops. Make sure you ask the tourist center for a street map too. We felt safe in each port. At each port, departing and returning back to the ship was very easy with no wait lines at all. We were very satisfied with our vacation on this ship and would go again.

Cabin Review

Cabin 11 12029

We were going to get an inside room but then decided to go with the balcony instead. Very happy that we made that decision. It was really worth it! Now I would probably never go back to an inside room. Room was 12029 on the 12th deck, very very clean and looked really sharp! Bath room was very clean, shower was a little tight but we got use to it.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Better than what I expected. Can walk from the ship with no problem. Very beautiful city and fountains. Took the tour bus to see everything. Then went back on foot to see certain things over again. I would return again.

You will need to take the ship excursion bus into town. About $35 for 3 of us. They drop you off in town and then you can take the tour buses to see everything else. Coast line is beautiful. Must see the church way up on the hill, take the small sightseeing train. The inter city was a little dirty. Vendor shopping very good by the marina.

Wish we had more time to see this city. We got up a little late and the ship was leaving that day at 2:00pm. However, I would not take the ship bus transportation to the city. It's less than a half mile, could even walk from the ship to the city center. The ship charged us $35 to drop us off and return. Taxi would probably be cheaper. Must visit their Barcelona’s main street. (can't remember the name) The best fruits, meat, candy, nuts are all laid out in the farmers market. Really really nice, fruit juice was very good. They have a lot of street actors, can take a photo with them for a dollar, so take a camera. I really liked this city.

Tunis (La Goulette)

Didn’t use the ship excursion. When the ship arrives in port, they have a little entertainment waiting for you. They have tour information right at the port terminal. You can rent a taxi for 3 hours at $60 plus tip. The modern city center is a little dirty, but the country is beautiful. The taxi driver showed us everything and let us wonder while he waited. He was very good. The houses up on the hill (white and blue) have the best views of the ocean & city with vendor shopping too. Ask the driver to take you to the white and blue houses up on the hill

Malta (Valletta)

What a beautiful island! We walked to the tourist center. We traveled the island by using the sightseeing buses. It's a 2 hour bus ride if you don't get off. If you do get off, they come by (hop on/off) every 40 minutes so you can visit the places you want. They even stop at the beach if you want to spend some time there. The shore line is very beautiful. We wished we had time to get off in the city area, that stops after the beach stop. Lots of nice shops and places to eat at. I could enjoy living here!

Taormina (Messina)

Messina Sicily was very very nice. You can walk from the ship to the main street a block away. So much to see and so little time. Take the sightseeing bus again. You have to visit the church with the clock tower in the middle of the city just before noon time. You will hear and see the lions roar and more. Would love to go back again.
