Brief review: The Summit was most enjoyable. Very clean, the entire crew extremely friendly and accommodating. We were in Concierge Class on Deck 8 with an outstanding steward. Our cabin was quiet and in very nice condition. All the food we had from buffet to MDR to room service breakfast was quite good, although the choices in the MDR were all rather rich which is different from how we usually eat. But, hey, we're on vacation on a cruise ship! Have a few more desserts than normal! Room service breakfast was delivered correctly and right on the dot at the time we asked. The entertainment was OK, some nights a bit better than others. We don't participate in many activities so the numerous sea days on this trip (no ones' fault, it was due to sea conditions) were difficult. If we cruise again we will bring more things to do during down time. Weather otherwise was beautiful and we'll remember sitting at lunch in the buffet (everyone was out so it was blessedly quiet) looking out at an amazing view of San Francisco from the bay to a bit of downtown on a stunning day. Also the small aft deck was always warmer and less windy than other outside deck locations. It was lovely out there. We aren't particularly experienced cruisers (been on a couple Princess cruises) and are on the senior side. The fact that the Summit is a smaller ship was great. We could easily walk from our aft cabin to the theater which is forward. Embarkation and disembarkation were handled well . We took the ship transfer to YVR, good choice. All in all we really liked the Summit.
