This ship is large, modern, well-decorated and appointed, with some unique features. The most prominent is a social area along an avenue of elegant shops and restaurants on deck 6 with a long, curved ceiling illuminated by changing colored displays. Our cabin was not large but very functional and comfortable. Food, especially the buffet, was much better than expected for a ship holding 5,000 passengers. The passengers were a mix of younger and older, and families with children. As this was a Mediterranean cruise originating in Palermo, most passengers were European, many Italian. The musical entertainment including several Brazilian musicians, was superb. The service was courteous and friendly. The only negatives were leaking of cigarette smoke from the casino and outside deck areas - which many cruise ships suffer from, and a disorganized disembarkation. As a sports fan I appreciated TV coverage of key Champions League football (soccer) games, something that not all cruise ships offer. The cruise price was very fair and made this cruise an excellent value for the money.
