12 years ago we started our first cruise with this line (to Norway) and we loved it , after few cruises with other lines we decided to go back to Holland America , because of our first good experience with them. This time we were unpleasantly surprised that for 12 years the standards have dropped significantly , instead of improving. On the first minute of the cruise we were very disappointed to find out they don't have water anywhere near, except going to the 9th floor-lido deck and filling up your own bottle with smelly chlorinated water. This is a human right to have water for free anywhere and not to be deprived, but this time the ship offered us a bottle of water only if we agreed to pay 6$.

Next point I want to make is the about the boring program on the ship. Program filled up with boring games and activities (the only worth watching thing was the lectures by Dr. Kam) The travel director Ian was useless of giving any good tips . He recommended hot springs with special guests(little monkeys) that were coming sometimes to dip in them, we went especially for them to see the animals kept in a small zoo , losing their fur from the stress and soaking in a small hot spring with no chance to do anything else, as they were prisoners in captivity! And to see this horrible view we needed to pay for entrance and for a taxi !!!

On the TV in the cabin we found the worst selections of films and music . There was no channel with classical music , and the films were either old, stupid or boring .
