We recently traveled with Viking from New Orleans to Memphis and overall we had a great time. The food was great and the two large dining venues and staggered excursion departure times do a good job of separating guests so you never really felt like you were traveling with nearly 400 other people. Most of the guides for our excursions were outstanding. We loved the WWII museum and think it would be great if they could increase the time allowed for this excursion. On the Manchac Swamp tour we saw alligators of all sizes, some raccoon, and wild boar. The Vicksburg Military Park Tour was great and our guide did an amazing job of bringing this part of history to life. The Steve Azar experience was terrific! Day 10 - Sadly, a big portion of this day is spent on a bus transiting from Rosedale to Memphis. We stopped in the cute little college town of Oxford rather than Cleveland for lunch. This is really no big deal but it’s not what is illustrated on the itinerary (some people like to research destinations before traveling). The included excursion for this day is entitled the “Memphis Botanic Garden”. While the “excursion” is listed as 6 hours, we had less than 45 minutes to explore the 96 acre garden facility. A good portion of the day is simply spent on the road in the bus. We really enjoyed the Graceland excursion. It’s a pricey excursion but there is a lot more to see than just the Elvis home. While the ship has it’s “walking track” (6 laps = 1 mile), I was disappointed that they did not put some type of exercise facility on this larger ship.
