Vilking staff were so helpful kind and efficient. Really wonderful. Food was well presented and consistently good. Regional dishes/wine/beer are included when possible. Don’t forget to ask for regional -included wine or beer.. as it changes. Many meals include both menu ordering and buffet. They individually cared for those with dietary restrictions. Tip: (just ask) I forgot to order my salad dressing free and they immediately brought me a new one when I messed up.

Included Viking tours provided transportation, good baseline explanations and orientation for each new city. When possible, we then toured on our own during remaining free time. We liked the break from the group and pursuit of our interests. We needed to better prepare for the independent side trips as sometimes advice was scarce in town on-site. LOOK up each town you plan to stop at and seek-out places (with their address) that you want to go! The storefronts with Big red or blue i’s are tourist infor and have maps and good suggestions. Sundays lots of museums/places may be closed. Take a pocket sized notebook and pen and take some notes on the tour guides reviews-otherwise you forget the fun information!! Attend the Cruise Directors overview in the evenings to prepare for the next day.

We packed lightly except for underwear and socks (great idea!). Harder to really rinse in a sink so the items right next to your body need to be super clean. Plug the overflow drain in the sink with a washcloth to keep enough water to rinse small items. Rinse Big items in the shower! Included Hanging line is in the shower. Laundry is very, expensive. Everyone re-wore items. Nobody had fancy jewelry or shoes. WE all gained weight. Suggest you don’t take tight pants or shirts. WE had layers and on the days we felt bloated an open wrinkle free button up shirt over a thinner shirt felt better. Honestly, the travel across time zones messes with your fluid balance and you do feel temporarily heavier. Then you eat too much and you are heavier.
