The suite was superb, the deck, massive. Aft cabin. Quite a bit of noise from the wash behind but I expected that. Cabin staff were superb, cannot fault them. With the suite came perks. Fruit bowls, snack trays and these were unnexpected. Large packets of chips and peanuts and chocolates. These went to our cabin staff so they were enjoying that. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud - just dreamy. The room was very large the bathrooms luxurious. We had dinner two nights in Angelos and the same in Dragon Lady. The first dinners in each restaurant was really very very good. The second night in both restaurants was average. The buffet was OK, good choices, however the salad at lunch time was very bad. Had a tendency to add prawns or meats or breads to the salads making them inedible for many and dripping with dressing. Dinner was better as you could make your own salad. Having loaded up from Singapore I have to say the fruit was the best I have ever had - so so sweet and delicious - was a huge hit with the passengers. There were two coffee machines on either side of the buffet bars but only one machine on each side was operational. Not sure if they were broken or just turned off - but it did create an annoying wait to make coffee, but the coffee was good, a tip for you is to add a nescafe sachet before you use the machine, thats if you enjoy a good brew. I am gluten free and had no trouble, took awhile to toast the bread but who cares they catered well for me. The shows in the Marquis theatre were fantastic, the production and lighting were superb, world class. The Byron Bay lounge was nice the pool was good as not over crowded but only used it once. Really used our large balcony a lot and the sunsets between Singapore and Darwin were simply sublime. Entertainment in the Black circus was sub par and expensive. Bingo was expensive and only five games. The Adventure hotel was overflowiing every night, but in the blue room was the best kept secret of the cruise. The Pacific Showband - just wow. The best drummer you could ever imagine, brilliant piano playerr, great guitar player and fabulous bass player. These guys were world class and an absolute highlight for us, couldnt get enough of them. The P & O app was defective from start to finish which was really annoying but it is what it is. My big gripe is that the ship has a full promenade deck for walkers. This deck was closed in sections most days and it seriously should not have been like that. Smokers facilities are appalling and P & O need to do something about that they can do better. All in all we enjoyed our time and loved our cabin. We are trying Princess next but have booked PNG with P & O next year. Dont play the pokies they are set too low it just drains you of your cash. I have a mini suite on the next cruise.
