We have cruised on other Cruise Lines, however this trip was our first Viking Cruise. Our experience was first class from the time of check-in to leaving the ship. The ship itself is absolutely beautiful with many extra amenities for passengers. The Nordic Spa is a must visit while on board, grab a new friend and go relax. The upgraded "Silver Spirits" package is well worth the money, if you enjoy having cocktails before or after dinner. All of the top shelf brands we enjoy at home were available as well as Brugal Rum that is difficult to find in the U.S.A. The staff is extremely friendly and competent. Our dining experiences at all of the restaurants on board were above our expectations. The Chef's Table had a very limited menu, which was fine, as the wine pairings were on par. It is very helpful that you can check menus on the TV in your stateroom. We did cancel reservations at Chef's Table one night as we did not want lamb chops for dinner. We dined in The Restaurant that evening and had a wonderful meal. The Viking Band does a wonderful job performing and the band members all interact with guest so well. We have honestly tried to think of a negative to report and are coming up blank. Congratulations Viking, you have us ready to book another cruise soon. We have never really enjoyed the cruises on ships holding 5,000 passengers. This smaller ship, with only about 900 passengers, was the perfect size.
