Our first cruise in 30 years and had a great experience overall. We were dropped off at the port terminal and an attendant checked our bags immediate. We went through check-in with only a 5 minute wait and were in our stateroom within 15 minutes of arriving at the port.

We had fairly calm seas the entire trip and the cooler weather leaving Fort Lauderdale soon turned to warmer Caribbean temperatures and nice breezes. We are not foodies so we didn't dine in any of the specialty restaurants and only dined in the evening dining room on three nights. While the food and service was good, the pace of service was a bit slower than our liking. The buffet selection in the cafe was varied and more than met our schedules. We did do breakfast room service several mornings when we had early shore excursions and the delivery was always in the early part of our time range. The onboard entertainment was top notch and we attended every evening's performance varying between the 7 and 9pm shows depending on our other activities. Eddy Jenkins was a fabulous cruise director with his self-deprecating Welsh humor and high energy. The activities director Kelsey was also very good. One of the highlights of the entertainment was the guitar playing/singing show that the ship's captain - Captain Kirk put on. Got a standing ovation and encore. His dedication to the passengers was displayed when after a 45 minute afternoon presentation on the ship's navigation and safety system, he stayed an additional 45 minutes until every question posed by the audience was answered. He has a very friendly style and strong sense of humor. It was nice on this cruise to be docked at each port and not have to be tendered.

We did shore excursions at every port except at Barbados when the tour to Harrison's Caves was sold out on both ShoreExcursionsGroup as well as through Celebrity. I had done work a couple of years ago in Barbados and had visited most of the parts of the island but it was the first time for my wife and it was disappointing she didn't get to do the Caves tour. We just walked into downtown and visited some of the historical areas and had a nice lunch.
