Another flawless dash down to Mexico and back home, and now some fresh feedback for the Bridge, as well as words for future guests. First, the staff of course. Predictably, guests are treated like gold; food is varied and superior to anything our party generally enjoys while home-bound; services from pingpong scholarship to spa, from massage to informing linedance tendencies... All of it, abundant and perfect.

Nothing routine about cruising and, even unaccompanied by such luxury and fun, the sea can only fascinate. The Koningsdam, however, and her builders' genius for design, result in a virtual picture frame of soothing color schemes and interestingly wrought metals, of parquet arabesques and teak geometries, of beautifully grained veneers and marble planes of grey, pink and blue. Of welcoming corridors and spacious elevator landings lined with art, opening onto vistas of bright opulance, of sunlight plunging from stories above through oblique barrels of superstructure, steel and glass. Of clever lighting and engrossing art themes, of spacious dining facilities and unexpected small celebrations of Dutch maritime past... Framed so beautifully, nature is rendered all the more accessible and grand.

So much fun, music and free-flowing spirits, staff's passion for making every aspect of your journey a seamless, 24-seven delight. Grant particularly, the vessel's Entertainment Director. To be praised for his calming presence at trivia brawls and movie-theme shootouts, for an astonishing Scottish brogue that in a perfect world would not be missing from *all* onboard announcements, but particularly for any role he may have played in inviting the B.B. King Blues Club lounge's current All-Stars aboard!
