Sail Date: Mar 2024

My husband and I sailed on what we call "the cruise to nowhere", being the 19 March 2024 Brilliance of the Seas "11 day "cruise to the South Pacific from Sydney, Australia

The cruise was meant to head to Lifou, Noumea, Mystery Island, Port Vila and Luganville for 11 days. In the end we only (just) got to Lifou - the other ports were cancelled and the cruise was cut short from 11 days to 8 days due to a mechanical issue with the ship. We were not told what this issue actually was.

Embarkation was a breeze. 11 minutes from arrival at the Terminal to getting on board. The ship itself, while old, is lovely, and the crew are fantastic. They are so friendly and helpful. Very impressed with them (except for disembarkation - see below). There is plenty to do on the ship and lots of areas to relax in. We never had a problem finding somewhere to sit on the ship except sometimes in the Schooner Bar when trivia was on - best to get there about 15 -30 minutes beforehand if you wanted a chance of a seat. It was much easier to get a seat for trivia in the much more spacious Colony Club - but that lacked the atmosphere of the Schooner Bar.
