Pros are supposed to go before cons, so I will put the positives first, but please don’t miss the negatives later in this review, because although there were a few redeeming qualities, make no mistake, I would never sail with MSC again.

First positive, all the staff below the managerial level deserve to be commended for being true, if not powerless, delights. We had many wonderful interactions with the hotel crews, the buffet staff, the servers in the restaurant, and many of the entertainers. They had an enthusiasm and ability to smile and engage in kind and genuine conversations. Unfortunately they had no ability to fix anything that might be going askew, but that was truly not their fault.

Second positive, the ship took us to some very difficult to reach destinations, and even if we were only able to stay for a few hours at too many of them (often leaving port hours before necessary in order to save on port fees and ensure the casino could reopen in international waters), we have now been to rare places such as Madagascar and Saint Helena islands.
