This was our 2nd NCL cruise - we were on the Dawn in January, 2004.
Flew into Fort Lauderdale - since we got cheaper flights and we hate the Miami Airport. Hired A Family Limousine service to pick up us up at the airport ($65 each way). No problems until we arrived at the bridge to the Port of Miami. It was backed up for over a mile, our driver said he never saw it so bad. Finally arrived at the terminal where our bags were taken right away. Were escorted to the VIP Lounge (since we had booked a Penthouse suite). The concierge then checked us in and we waited for about 1/2 hour before boarding. Since we were getting the VIP treatment - we were some of the 1st ones on the ship. We were then escorted to our cabin and 1 piece of our luggage was already there.
Cabin - we were in the very front of the ship (right under the bridge). A bottle of chilled champagne awaited us (from the Hotel Director). Cabin was very spacious and kind of divided by a large wall unit that housed the tv and drawers on one side and the desk, bar and refrigerator on the other. There was a round table with 4 chairs by the balcony, along with a sofa, coffee table and club chair. Huge teak balcony with 2 side chairs, 2 lounge chairs and a small table. The bathroom was huge! When you walked in the door - there was the walk-in closet with tons of hangers and drawers and the safe. The bathroom had a long double sink with very nice amenities (shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, shower gel, cotton balls, loofah and bath salts). There was a shower with double doors, the toilet was in a small room by itself and there was a huge whirlpool tub.
