So Alaska was beautiful. It was amazing. Our original trip was supposed to happen in June of 2022. Our family members had just gotten off of the same cruise on the same ship. They had a great time. Days before our trip was supposed to happen, we received an email that the entire trip (land and sea) was cancelled due to crew shortages. We were a little confused since our family members had just returned from the same cruise, but with everything going on we went with it and figured it was not meant to be. We were in a sense rewarded for the cancellation from Holland. We immediately started searching to rebook for 2023 only to find that the cruises had almost doubled in price (so much for the reward for the cancellation of our trip in 2022). We rebooked for May of 2023. We also booked our excursions. Numerous excursions were than either cancelled all together or cancelled and then reentered at a higher cost after we booked. We were continously have to reschedule excursions and then lost out on some because there was a conflict with another one that we had previously booked. Before leaving for our trip I had gotten in contact with a personal cruise consultant concerning distilled water being available for a C-Pap machine during the land and the cruise portion of the trip. She reassured me that she would get back in contact with me as soon as she could with the need information. She did not bother to get back with us prior to our departure with any information.

When we arrived at our hotel in Fairbanks we spent $20 to get a taxi to a store that had distilled water. Later we found out that you can get an open cup of distilled water from the front desk for a night. Then you would have to go back each night, or they will bring the cup to your door and leave it on the floor outside your hotel door. We just carried the gallon jug with us throughout the whole trip. Then when we were on the bus to one of our land destinations, they gave us a letter stating that our excursion at this hotel was cancelled by the excursion company. OK well that happens. The only thing is WE NEVER RECEIVED OUR MONEY BACK FROM HOLLAND. We wrote them emails and sent them EVERYTHING. A copy of the letter was sent, our reservations for the excursion everything that they could need. They sent us emails back to send them the same information. I responded that it was all attached in the original email. Then they just stopped responding all together. We never received our money back from them. This was a total of $609.90. That is a lot of money. We travelled on Royal C previously and an excursion had to be cancelled and our money was refunded literally the same day!!!! We also stayed at one hotel that the smell was so overpowering when you entered that it was hard to breathe. The rooms were so hot and could not be cooled down at all. Our bus broke down. Another one of the stops that the bus was supposed to make ended up being cancelled. They took us someplace else, but the monetary difference was not refunded for that either.

So that is some of the issues we had.
