Sail Date: Feb 2024

We just completed (Feb 2024) a five day cruise on Celebrity Summit, from Miami, with port calls in Nassau and Cozumel. I was very excited when we booked the cruise last September, but became apprehensive after reading some of the reviews on cruise critic. However, I am happy to report that we truly enjoyed our five days on the Summit. From the moment we stepped on the ship, to the moment we left the ship, we were greeted with smiles, and “how are you” from every crewmember. The condition of the room was immaculate. The condition of the ship was excellent. I did not see the wear and tear that some other reviewers mentioned. Despite being one of the smaller and older ships in the Celebrity Fleet, I would not hesitate to take another cruise on the Celebrity Summit.

Our cabin was on the 11th deck with an aft balcony, as part of the aqua class services. Being in an aqua class room provided unlimited access to the Persian spa, a discount on certain beverages, a discount on spa services, some free exercise classes and our own dining room called The Blu. For us, the greatest benefit was the unlimited access to the Persian Spas but you can buy a daily or full cruise length pass to access these spas without being in Aquaclass.

The Blu menu promotes healthier options and portions, but we were also welcomed to select off the main dining room menu while eating at the Blu. As vegetarians who eat gluten free, there were initially menu limitations, but the chef worked with us as the cruise progressed. Our server (Johanna) worked really hard to make sure our needs were met. In the Oceanside Cafe, we found lots of options to fit our diet, including freshly made gluten free pizza. The staff here were also very pleasant and responsive, and the food was better than I thought it would be based on previous reviews.

Cabin Review

Our aft balcony was bigger than the traditional side balcony, and we really enjoyed the view. Eleventh deck with quick access to Oceanview Cafe. The bed was very comfortable, room decor was nice, and there was plenty of storage space. I do agree with other posts that the shower was small, but the bathroom was pristine.
