We got a good deal on this ship and needed to use 5 days leave-had cruised on the Magnifica a few years so thought it would be good as a new ship. Beautiful, shiny, glossy and sparkly with fabulous entertainment and brilliant proper dining in the restaurants in the evening, however beware.

Horrendously expensive to buy anything-65 Euros EACH for a T-bone,1 Euros for a large Toblerone! Serious lack of waiting staff in all locations-waited 40 minutes in Infinity to get served staff run off their feet. Lack of seating everywhere especially on sea days. No way of clearing up spills or mess in cabins as all tissues removed. Marketplace food varied but mostly cold-like a cattle-market most days. Ladies’ public toilet hand washing is like using a trough and the only place to find a hand towel, we took handfuls back to our cabin. All cushions vanished unlike Magnifica. Reception area big but has a piano & entertainment and serious lack of seating.

Lovely setting varied offerings and great freshly cut fruit and yoghurt, and fabulous freshly cooked bread and pastry. Impossible to get hot toast as one revolution not brown enough or machine needed several revolutions to get brown and ended up like bricks by the time all meal had been collected and a table (good luck with that) cold anyway.

Cabin Review

Fantastica level (deck 9) spacious huge comfy bed well laid out and functional-good to have tea/coffee making facilities.

Port Reviews

Hamburg trip to Lubeck was a disaster supposed to be moderate walking-was 2.5 hours non-stop, ancient church visited was stripped out with nothing but the white walls and a hoover in the middle as it was being refurbished. Was not told that the shops were all shut on a Sunday-nothing in the description despite the opportunity to have free time. Had to cancel remaining trips as husband ended up with sore hip due to the heavy walking mostly on cobblestones.

Brugge (Bruges)

Lovely tour, coach driver and guide great, knowledgeable and took time to explain canals etc, visit to both castle, village and chocolate shop interesting with plenty of time to enjoy.
