Do not i repeat, do not book an norwegian/oceana cruise. You have been warned we are on the around the world cruise currently. the cruise is 196 days from miami florida to new york. It is utterly a complete disappoint. If i was to write every disappointment, we have experienced up to now it would be 10 pages. We are going to try to condense it. First, they advertises the best cuisine at sea. That is completely false. This is the worst food and variety we both have experienced on any cruise line. Now, if you’re just a 10 day to a 20 day cruise they can snowball you to think it’s great. But i can tell you the menus never change and they reuse their food and just name it something else. now, if you like, veal, fish or eggplant, this is a cruise for you. Because it is the only thing that’s consistent every night on all menus. We are now on our 60th day of the cruise. And it’s only gotten worse as time has gone on. After the first week, we eat off the boat twice a day in port. The terrace café at best is cafeteria food. The two specialty restaurants. Let’s just say there isn’t anything special about them. We would say they are average at best which in our opinion is equivalent to other cruise lines buffets. On sea days there isn’t a chair to be had. After the first segment the cruise line reduced the hours to the cafe by an hour and 30 min in the grand dining. along, with 15 min before closing they are literally shutting everything down. Which we have been part of not having enough food to be served of what they specifically advertised for lunch that day. For our cruise we get 26 free visits to each speciality restaurants. Let’s just say as of day 60 we have used 4 in polo and 2 in toscana and won’t be back to it. They have 5 choices for veal for gods sake. we have never set foot into the grand dining room. The same menu is offered in the cafe. It is really that bad and folks it is not the best cuisine at sea.

Destination services it’s a complete and utterly a joke. Everyone knows it. Shore excursions through the boat are always over priced no secret. We have spent close to $30,000 for all excursions through the boat for 196 days. A lot of the ports we have two excursions in one day. It’s one thing for excursion not to meet your expectations that’s going to happen. What we have witnessed and experienced ourselves out of 33 excursions to date 70 percent of them weren’t worth the money. Out of the 33 50% of the excursions description per destination services wasn’t correct. Either by things listed to do, timing, or places going to see. Which there is always an excuse by designation services for this. Which i can understand if i was told before i purchased the excursion, not after. Out of the 33 excursion 5 of them so far either the bus, the jeep, or the transportation broke down. This resulted in excursion not being fulfilled. This is where my negative feedback comes into play. I requested a refund for those five excursions. I explained exactly what i have mentioned above. I got the shoulder shrug along with theres nothing we can do for you. My immediate response was we have booked and experienced third-party excursions and all of them have turned out excellent. The shore excursions response was usually most of them are. i ended the conversation with if we don’t see some type of compensation. We will be canceling the majority of our excursions through you guys. you could tell they had no care in the world if we did. I have seen other cruisers ask about what type of destination services are within the ports. Don’t even bother with this question because they have no ideal about any of the ports. Conclusion, if you like over paying for things that you don’t receive and being lied to on paper this is the cruise line for you!

Now for the on board entertainment, if that’s what you want to call it. The same band same songs. After only 20 days for the around the world cruisers who got on in los angeles for the 180 days. They were complaining to the cruise director. They are tired of hearing the same songs. It was so much of an issue for folks the cruise director made it a point during her morning info commercial to let them know they are trying to come up with something. the entertainment acts repeat. The cruise director husband literally on stage 11 times within 55 days. A lot of the same stuff from him to the point he actually recognizes it himself while on stage. The house band is the same acts which have repeated 4 times now. This being because it’s the 4th segment of the world cruise. So as mentioned before if you’re just a 10 to 20 day cruiser or segment cruiser your opinion; one would think would be different. the lounge(theater) won’t even hold half of what’s onboard. I personally counted the seats. The cruise line has a slight remedy for this. The show doesn’t start til 9:30. Keep in mind the average age on this world cruise is 70. Most of which have been in bed for at least an hour before.
