After many years sailing with Princess cruises we decides to have a change and try P & O as they appeared to offer good value for money. Arvia was a new ship and we had received some good reviews about it and its sister ship Iona. We were quite fortunate to be flying TUI from Manchester to Bridgetown and everything went exceptionally well, we certainly liked depositing our luggage at Manchester and not seeing it again until it appeared outside our cabin door. We favour being served breakfast and have to say the breakfast at the Zenith was really good, consistent and by far the best poached eggs at sea, the only downside was my first choice of smoked salmon which I requested every day was not available, come on P & O if you are not going to provide it do not have it on the menu, after all you had it on board as I did have it at the Epicurian although I did pay for it. Evening meal at the zenith was generally OK although the menu choices I found very limited. The Epicurian was exceptional and we would highly recommend it as was the Keel and Cow and Sindau, a great pity we could not say the same for the 6th Street Diner what a massive disappointment, the sample menu looked really good ribs, buffalo wings, loaded fries none of which were available on the night we visited, the choice was severely limited and the quantity and quality of our meal was poor. The ports visited were really good especially St Kitts, only disappointment was Martinique which was closed.

We found our balcony cabin quite small with very little space around the bed and access to wardrobes severely limited due to an oversize bed settee. There were no drawers and most of the cupboard space had very little depth to them meaning storage space was severely limited. Only one service/clean per day an no bedtime turn down was disappointing. Too few wait staff around pool and bar areas meant long delays (or complete lack of) service at times. Internet far too expensive and complicated requiring constant logging on.

The same old problem of unoccupied but toweled sun beds exists and needs management by deck staff.

Cabin Review

As stated above really poor design regarding space in the cabin and adequate storage and access, on a positive note great bed and pillows ensuring quality sleep and a really good bathroom.
