My wife and I, both in our 60’s, booked this 14 day cruise from Buenos Aires to Antarctica and were very disappointed. We have over 30 cruises with 10 on Norwegian and the rest mostly on Royal Caribbean, Princess, or Holland America. I usually rate cruises as 5 star as you get what you book and a cruise is usually a good time. However this cruise on the Norwegian Star was overall terrible for many reasons. Bottom line is I do not recommend using NCL for a cruise to Antarctica!

EMBARKATION/DEBARKATION: Absolutely the worst, most disorganized experiences we’ve ever had on a cruise! We were informed ahead the cruise terminal in Buenos Aires was damaged and we had to go to a warehouse several miles away from the port to drop our luggage and to stick to our scheduled arrival time. We used Uber (which works great in BA) and arrived at the warehouse on our 1pm time. From there it took 2 ½ hrs to finally get onto the ship. The warehouse was a zoo full of folks from our cruise and another one. We waited in a long line to drop our bags then waited over an hour for a shuttle bus to the terminal. Very little direction so we had to ask other passengers for directions. Obviously NCL did not schedule enough shuttles. Once at the terminal, with no sign of damage to it, we had long lines for security, check-in, and then immigration. Finally had another shuttle to the ship which was parked another mile away. Cabins were ready at 3:30pm (late?), lifeboat drill was just watch a video and walk by your lifeboat station.

Debarkation was also a gaggle as there was a huge mass of people grabbing their luggage and then crowding into the hallway for customs clearance. No one from NCL was present to provide order or directions. It took an hour to move with the crowd to the few customs stations available. Again the slowest, worst debark we’ve ever experienced thanks to little NCL help.
