We are Platinum member of Princess. Signed up for Majestic Princess for two consecutive cruises starting 11/25/2023 to New Zealand and then 12/10/2023 to Australia. This cruise was to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday. Actually looked at cruise critic reviews of this ship with just average ratings before booking although being a long time Princess cruise supporter, believed it could just be certain sailing that are poor so the average is low. The other reason being Majestic is the only cruise we found going to New Zealand and Australia back to back. Next time, we would be very cautious about Princess cruises.

Poor experiences first:

1. In two occasions, witnessed food serving staff at buffet restaurant (once in the dessert section, the other in hot food section) coughing at the food. Didn't believe neither incidences were intentional but definitely poor hygiene. Spoke to restaurant manager, suggested food serving staff should wear a mask when serving food. Later followed up, the reply was that staff were reminded to cover mouth when sneezing or coughing and that mask is no longer required by the government. My reply was that even the government does not require, company should set a higher hygiene standard.
