This was my second cruise, the first was with Princess, this one was on the Norwegian Bliss. The Bliss was a pretty ship, decently clean and spacious, although there were spots that definitely showed the ships age - peeling paint in spots, chairs in restaurants with cracked seating pads (in one restaurant every single seat was beyond worn, and the majority were cracked and split).

The rooms: we booked a balcony room, it was clean, comfortable, and as spacious as a cruise ship room can be. Our steward was great and remembered our names, even greeting us by name in the random hallway passings. I wasn’t left wanting in this department

The primary restaurants were ok- but a few things stood out as strong negatives to me: both restaurants are in the exact same spot on the ship, just opposite sides. This wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing if it were mid-ship, but both being towards the back/aft forced all of the lines to form in a manner that completely blocked the rear elevators - trying to get on/off the elevators during the start of dinner time was a complete nightmare. We made reservations for each night of the cruise, but that didn’t seem to mean anything, they sat everyone regardless of reservations. And lastly, our drinks regularly sat empty for extended periods, appetizers occasionally showed up after the entrees, and empty plates stayed too long at the tables. The staff were friendly, but it didn’t make up for the negatives.
