We sailed on Emerald Harmony up the Mekong from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Phnom Penn as part of a longer tour of Vietnam and Cambodia with Emerald.

In summary the cruise was simply amazing. Our owners suite was even bigger than it looked in the brochure pictures and we were the envy of several others that we met who had tried to book the suite. We never got round to using the jacuzzi bath on our balcony and my wife only managed some short spells one of the sun beds because it was very hot, but the extra space was well worth the increased cost, particularly as we had booked very early with an early booking discount.

The ship is so well designed, a spacious and comfortable lounge for evenings and a restaurant with a central serving area for the buffet meals and breakfasts. Food was of excellent quality and the menu was very varied, with the usual Emerald options of 4 more standard dishes (e.g. steak) if one of the 3 main course dishes didn’t appeal. Neither my wife or I ever needed to resort to one of those dishes.

Cabin Review

Definitely worth the extra money, only 2 of these cabins on the ship and met several other guests who had tried and failed to book one because they were both booked. We booked almost as soon as the dates were announced so book early
