I loved that the virgin employees seem to be happy and allowed to engage their own unique personalities. Virgin does an amazing job at selecting good hearted people who sincerely are wonderful at service. The performing arts show that we saw of kids flying through the air and playing out a Romeo and Juliet style of show we literally the best show that we have ever seen! Truly incredible to witness such talent and choreography. It is the sole reason we are booked another voyage with Virgin. The House Music DJ event was a nice touch! I would definitely book more trips if Virgin booked more great House Music or Electronic Music events for us GenXers.

Sadly, I was severely disappointed by the food on our cruise. We had been hearing how the restaurants were all Michelin rated quality. However, that is not what we found at all. Having worked as a trainer and server at some of the finest restaurants in South Florida and San Francisco, I can tell you that the food at most of the restaurants and the Galley were no were even in the ballpark of fine dining. We started off at at Pink Agave and ordered the ribeye and seabass. The ribeye was exquisite however the seabass wasn't seabass at all, it was branzino being served as seabass. It was such a disappointment. And unfortunately, Extra Virgin is trying to pass branzino off as seabass too. Nothing like Toothfish, which we call Seabass. The poblano pepper at Pink Agave will light you on fire and give you heartburn in just one bite. The food at Gunbae was overly salted like a salt bomb went off in your mouth. None of the guests at our table were able to eat any their meal. Extra Virgin offered a delicious NY Strip Steak but the Carbonara pasta was so thick that it soaked up all of the cheese and ended up flavorless. The quality of pizza at the Gallery pizzeria was excellent but could use more topping options. Mark was an excellent waiter who was very attentive and kind and went well above and beyond to engage us about things that we could do while we were on the cruise. And last but not least, the Galley. The food at the Gallery was extremely disappointing. Very basic options with no flavor. And what is the point of offering sushi that is so basic? No one had anything good to say about the food in the Gallery. The only thing I found good there was the prime rib, hashbrowns, and the salmon toast with cucumbers. Everything else needs some serious work. No flavor, no excitement, and no feeling of gluttony that we all look to indulge with on a cruise. And please add some sauteed mushrooms to your breakfast bar options.

We purchased an unlimited thermal spa package and went to the spa everyday. The spa experience was wonderful. The cold plunge option is so awesome, but the tubs are not nearly deep enough to submerge your whole body into them, which was quite disappointing. Also, it would be good if the spa offered its guests a salt scrub, hair mask, and honey and milk treatment upon each visit rather than one for the entire voyage. It is simply not enough.

Cabin Review

Loved the mood lighting, movie library, music on television, and amplified sound system on tv. The room was well organized with places to hang and put away all of your things. The extra room under the bed for a duffle bag were helpful. The shower is small so it was difficult to bend down to wash your legs. The room attendants were very helpful and always around to assist no matter what time of day. The extra throw blanket was nice as well. The bed was not very comfortable and neither were the pillows unfortunately. I wish there was a memory foam mattress and pillow set there instead.
