Embarked in Sydney Australia for 12 day cruise to NZ, embarkation was seamless. Throughout the cruise the staff were friendly & went above & beyond. Cannot fault the staff they are the only redeeming factor in the Royal Caribbean experience.

In the rooms there are US outlets only, cannot plug in Australian devices, there are no USB ports. Only option was to rent an adapter from customer service for $25US each, this is refunded at the end of the trip.

All shore tours booked through RC are twice the price of local tour prices. We booked all but one with external tour services & they were excellent. The one we took with RC was dreadful. Hawkes Bay Panaroma tour was supposed to stop at local fruit vendor for sampling & tour art deco architecture & the countryside of Hawkes Bay. Instead our tour guide drove through run down neighbourhoods & stopped at a tiny run down shopping centre with four dollar stores & not much else, for 30 minutes. Lots of talk about the weather, disasters, flooding, fire, earthquakes, & a cyclone. Our tour guide talked about how eating too much fruit gives you diarrhoea but that was as close as we got to sampling local fruit. Art deco tour was literally driving down one street pointing at houses/buildings as we drove by. No stop for lunch, drove through Napier, lots of talk about local events & how much there is to see in Napier but we saw none of it. Nowhere to review this shore trip either.

Cabin Review

Cabin was roomy & clean, nice big window, cabin steward was friendly, only fault was the linens weren’t changed in 12 days!

Port Reviews

Beautiful city, recommend the day attractions pass. Tram, Punting & Gondola

Highly recommend Leisure Tours city highlights tour.

Quaint little town, highly recommend Iconic Tours Dunedin Highlights & Lanarch Castle tour, includes all the best spots in Dunedin with great local knowledge

Milford Fjord

Misty & beautiful when we were there

Doubtful Sound

Picturesque with views of native birds & seals

Dusky Sound

Beautiful, much like Doubtful, more open but no less breathtaking

What a sad run down place, highlight was a honey hut? Not sure why ships stop here?

Wellington proper was nothing special, flat & not dissimilar to any other city. The highlights were the Gallipoli exhibition at the National Museum & the Weta Workshop/Cave tour, also took a LOTR filming sites tour which was OK
