The ship is beautiful. There are lounges scattered throughout with books, historical items, games and puzzles. Afternoon tea is fabulous. The Explorer’s Lounge was our favorite spot. The covered pool was very nice. The food was good, but there was not a lot variety. It seemed to be the same menu in the regular restaurant and the buffet and nearly everything repeated very night. Manfredi’s was lovely and I highly recommend getting reservations there (no extra cost for the specialty restaurants!). But again, same menu each night. The tour companies employed for the shore excursions were excellent. It was unfortunate that due to weather, we had to miss Ephesus and Troy, but the captain then managed to get us to Istanbul a day early. The crew rapidly adjusted to the 2 missed ports of call and provided activities on board. Cruise director was excellent. The Penthouse Jr Suite was perfect size with plenty of electrical outlets (120 US & 220 EU) and USB/C ports. Well thought out design. The bathroom was lovely with plenty of room to move around and the shower was excellent. Very quiet room.

Port Reviews

Istanbul

New port is fabulous. Lots of space for tour buses. Process of passport control is excellent with the shore pass. Beautiful facility. It’s a bit of a walk from ship to city side but the path is well marked. You can either exit to the city or to a brand new, high end shopping/dining area. Absolutely lovely.
