everything was great , food, service ,entertainment . embarking azura was very smooth and we were soon onboard. the staff looked after our main luggage from the transfer coach and it duly arrived at our cabin quickly . in the evening we decided to use the anytime dinning option as we wanted a table for two and were looked after by waiters john and arnold who couldn't do enough for us .the food menu had a great range of options and service was very quick .the entertainment on the ship was varied to look after everyone . the stage shows were some of the best we have ever seen eg one for the ladies the full monty was part of a show did they do the full monty? ,there was lots to keep you entertained, friday was a bit quieter but we looked into main theatre and caught the beginning of the latest mission impossible film on the big screen ,like being at the pictures . sat to thursday stage shows or singers my favourite the soul sisters were on 2 nights ,and on the final night thurs a magic allusion show that amazed everyone designed by stephen mulhearn .during our week stay there was a mixture of bands ,singers ,karaoke ,comedian .even a race night ,bingo, a quiz like the 1 percent tv show my fav ,sports showing in the casino bar , dancing lessons in the atrium . if you wanted there was 3 films a day shown on big screen outside .the food in the buffet at lunch was great and a wide choice. on our visits there was always some kind of roast available plenty of options to cater for everyone duck breast delish , most reviews stated only half of buffet space opened, but what i noticed as one part opened the other getting prepared for afternoon snacks etc maybe that clears that up . as the weather was great the sea days got a bit busy for sun loungers . we found deck 16 was a bit quieter .before we cruised we read reviews about drinks taken too long for service ,my tip is give your order to waiters don't stand at the bar and it is much quicker and we had no problems .also on the ship glass bottles of coke and diet only great .we enjoyed our cruise and will definitely return. it was our 1st p and o cruise but hopefully not our last .on our return home our cases were taken from outside our cabin and we never had to handle them until our arrival in london gatwick .a mention also to our cabin steward who kept our cabin clean etc .although tips were included in cruise price we tipped our waiters and cabin staff extra for exceptional service but overall the service from everyone was great they couldn't do enough for us.there was a great atmosphere on the ship and we met some lovely people.the places we visited were very relaxed ,our favourite is funchal madeira where you can buy a day pass for the local buses for 5 euros that can be purchased directly opposite the ship at a caravan type vehicle ,it will allow you to get a bus no 20,21 to take you to a place called monte where you can use the toboggen ride or just enjoy the scenic views of funchal . you can catch the numbers 20 21 at the end of the promenade turn to the left for the bus stop you just have to take the bus to its final stop. then walk a short distance over a bridge type road and clime some steps to reach the summit for the breathtaking views where there is a cafe if you need something to eat or drink ,then return to the bus stop opposite side of road to return to city centre well worth a visit , we took the tuk tuk back to ship 5 euros each person but saved walking the 2 miles back to ship .at grand canaria the weather peaked at a lovely 27 degrees so we headed to beach and enjoyed a bite to eat and a coffee enjoying the rays .lanzarote was the one port i would recommend taking the coach transfer supplied by ship 4 euros each person each way ,it is some distance to walk depending where ship gets berthed ,there was a german ship visiting the same time and they had the short distance to walk to town ,it might change as the azura normally berths at the shorter distance to town .on the drinks prices i purchased the classic package pre cruise at £40 a day each but was under used so might just settle for soft drinks package next time ,a alcholic cocktail £ 8.95 a spirit £4.50 so your choice . we enjoyed having breakfast in the restaurant had a lot of laughs.i usually had smoked salmon then a full english the laugh is my wife wanted a soft boiled egg only but never received one usually hard boiled. hope i have given you some tips to enjoy your cruise .
