Our family arrived independently at the Port of Miami and embarkation was rapid as we were on board at the Windjammer cafe within 60 minutes of arrival. The balcony stateroom was immaculately clean and ready for us. Previous reviews had recommended the stern location of our cabin as it had a larger balcony, not overlooked, and easily able to accommodate two sun loungers, two chairs and a table. We chose the formal second seating dining. Having grown out of the necessity to eat at 6pm as our child has got older, we now always eat later in the formal dining room as this extends the time available at any shore excursion in ports of call. The food was well prepared and the waiters were attentive, even providing cheese and biscuits when requested, with our coffee, at the end of our meal, despite this not being an option as it was missing as a choice each evening from the menu. We found room service very good for breakfast on days we had an early start on shore excursions. We enjoyed a variety of on board activities including all the theatre shows which were of a very high standard. The ice show was spectacular and we spent time as novices trying out the ice ourselves in one of the free skating sessions. The rock wall provided a physical challenge but it would be valuable to include several additional bells at different heights on the rock wall to allow less experienced children, or adults, feel a sense of achievement at whatever height they have the stamina to reach. Our son did not join the children's club as he had just reached the age for moving up to the teen section (12-14) but lacked confidence to go. My wife enjoyed the spa, using the hairdressing there in preparation for both formal nights. We enjoyed the big band orchestra and traditional Ballroom and Latin American dancing and the excitement of the football World Cup final on board. Disembarkation was unusually late as we waited to be called and were still on board at 11.15am. We had no flight to catch that day and were comfortable, so this was not a problem for us, but the delay to disembark our group seemed unusual as the ship already had its next passengers arriving through security for their embarkation.
