Cabin: The Haven Penthouse with Large Balcony

Our first time on prima class. We sailed in the Haven and really enjoyed the experience. There are some pros and cons with this ship class while sailing in the Haven. Below are specific to the Haven experience and complex

-The layout of the entire complex being in the aft of the ship creates the true ship within a ship experience

Cabin Review

The Haven Penthouse with Large Balcony

We sailed in a standard Have balcony cabin. We found the cabin comparable to a mid to high end basic hotel room. Plenty of space but as noted in our review, the location above the infinity pools is a real bummer. The balcony is a good size and enjoyable at night when the pool is empty.

A few things stand out with this cabin. The lights are very difficult to operate to the point that I was about to call our butler to explain how to turn the lights off on our first night. There are automatic shades however they don't work very well. The whole room seems pieced together with some drawers being soft close, push to open while others you have to pull. Seems like every piece was selected without the room in mind. The craftsmanship seems to be lacking. Our main door did not shut tight and was howling with the wind all night. Our closet door would not securely shut and would slam open at night in rough seas.

Overall the cabin is nice but could use a little improvement in design and craftsmanship. We were definitely spoiled on our first Haven experience in an aft cabin on the Encore.
