Overall this cruise was great. Our cruise was at the end of December/beginning of January and most people on the cruise were traveling as members of various multi-generational families. There is little in the way of onboard activities but the expeditions and naturalist team are great!

Before the trip we were picked up at the airport and taken via shuttle to the ship, during the bus journey a local guide talked about the culture.

Food-wise, breakfast is served buffet style but the other meals are all plated and somewhat formal. Nobody dresses up but there is one table service for both dinner and lunch. For each meal, there is one appetizer and dessert option along with the choice from a fish, meat, and vegan option for the entree. There were also 2 options that remained the same for every lunch and dinner, for lunch a salad and chicken and for dinner pasta and steak. For dinner, you put in your order earlier in the day whereas for lunch you order at the table. The portions were rather small for the American pallet although when requested they would bring another entree. The offerings were a good blend of local and Western cuisine. About 50% of the days there was a cocktail hour before dinner with some food available. There is a nice drink station for coffee, tea, juice, and the like available 24/7 although there is no food available at times other than the meals. Beer and wine were included for free in addition to a signature cocktail during the cocktail hours. Other alcoholic beverages were available for purchase from a fully stocked bar.
