Ship, stateroom and staff were all great. For the cruise cost, other aspects of the experience were, in our view deficient. Our TV system was of such poor sound quality as to be inaudible and when reported it was clear that Viking had no more interest in a resolution than they do to responding to other constructive criticism. Food is generally quite good but not exceptional and some aspects are inherently poor;- synthetic fruit syrups used in cocktails, sweetened breakfast orange juice that would be considered poor in a 2* hotel etc. Manfredi's Italian used to be excellent but many of what seemed popular dishes have been removed from the menu and those that remain are rather poor including their bread selection that in the past tasted fresh and varied. Strangely, getting a table here is not easy despite consistently being only part full, the Management answer to which was that they wished to maintain standards....but at what level?
