I believe MSC Virtuosa is their largest ship and it was heaving. There was noise everywhere especially in the "marketplace". We decided to get up early so we could have breakfast in the restaurant. The last sitting was at 8.30 which in our view was early. The waiters took your order but everything arrived at the same time be it fruit/yoghurt or omelette or pancakes. The juices and coffee were served at the same time and everything felt rushed. Tables were too small to accommodate all these glasses /plates etc so not a relaxing start to the day. There were long queues for drinks all the time. It was easy to book the shows on the screens around the ship but chaos to gain entry and leave as everyone was watching the ceiling picture show or the entertainment team were doing a dance routine in the gangway and the noise was horrendous. We were told all 3 restaurants had the same menu so we chose the one which gave us time to eat and see the 21.15 show. Some nights we had to rush down to the theatre as the meal was soo slow and again the noise in the restaurant was immense. We have been on several cruises but felt the menu choice was not good on the Virtuosa. It seemed like they had made as many cuts as possible to save money. I had several cuts of meat that I couldn't cut let alone eat. Our lovely waiter was apologetic but in my opinion that type of meat shouldn't have even left the kitchen. They knew what they were serving up to guests. I am not a big eater but I must say the portions were small. We had a premium drinks package which was good but we had to pay for basic ice cream which seemed strange. Also you could only have juice from the machine in market place at breakfast - very strange !! Have decided we won't go on another cruise on Virtuosa as this ship is just too BIG

Cabin Review

Bathroom was compact but could manage for a few days.

Bed was large and comfortable. Nice to have a sofa to relax on. Had enough space for all our belongings.

Balcony was small but serviceable.

Nice to still have a turn down service at night and all used towels removed and replaced

Port Reviews

Abu Dhabi

We purchased tickets for Hop on Hop off bus tour on ship but found it would have been cheaper if we had bought tickets at the bus stop, as MSC charged extra for booking on board.

We enjoyed the tour around the city and had earphones supplied to listen to information about the area

Doha

Just used the shuttle bus which took us into the main area. Walked through the little streets of shops some of which were selling birds, rabbits, hamsters etc which was an eye opener. We found a lovely open area of gardens and pathways which were so clean and a lovely place for a stroll in the sunshine with a great view across to the sky scrapers.

Sir Bani Yas Island

Ship docked alongside a walkway leading to the beaches which was very convenient. Sun beds were freely available to relax and chill on the beach. However the sand wasn't soft and there were broken shells which hurt you're feet. The sea was lovely and clear and some people were swimming. There were many places to eat and drink so you could spend the whole day here. They also ran some safari tours from here.
