I rarely give a review and definitely not a "firewalled positive" review like this one! We chose this cruise to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary. It exceeded our expectations in every way. What we appreciated the most were the genuine interactions with all the staff and crew. We tried to get to know the staff that we saw often and were grateful that they shared how much they enjoyed their job and working for Viking. Even though Viking caters to a "higher end" clientele, the way they presented every aspect of the ship and their services was not overdone or insincere - and the price of the cruise was also very affordable as well, competing well on a cost per day for a self-organized trip. The dining venues were either by reservation or open seating, mostly your choice. The food and dining service was of exceptional quality and variety, with themes based on the ports we visited. Each day the excursions were timed well and very well organized and coordinated. The basic included excursions were good, but the additional cost excursions were even better value given what you were able to see for just a little more expense - since you were already that far from home. One of our favorite things was the afternoon tea - a nice time to relax after coming back from an excursion to recharge a bit before preparing for the evening and dinner. We will definitely choose Viking again!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda Stateroom

The DV4 cabin was perfect. Even though larger cabins were available, this one had everything you need and room to move about without feeling too cramped - including its own veranda.
