I always tell people to take reviews with a grain of salt - some people are just complainers ... and some see everything with rose-colored glasses. But when the same complaints come up again and again, do not ignore the warnings. The negative comments regarding this ship - are accurate.

1. Noordam is OLD, tired, and worn out. It deserves a major overhaul. Not only is the furniture, art, and design; all drab, but the layout is equally depressing. They need to change the floor plan to be more inviting and upbeat.

2. The food is mediocre at best. The Main Dining Room is always packed - so unless you are an Orange Club Member plan to wait in line to eat. The Lido is just like every other buffet, by day two, you know exactly what to expect. Pinnacle Dining is the only place you will find quality food and service. The Caneleto is not worth your time or the extra fee (and how hard is it to make lasagna or risotto?) Since when is it "specialty dining" when you are actually eating in the buffet; just in a cornered-off section where they added a tablecloth and a candle? [Perhaps that's why the food is not that good, it's coming from the same chef] and nothing like having a constant flow of people walking by you as they head to the buffet. *The Dive In (by the pool) is very good - and if you don't want to wait for your freshly cooked burgrer - they have a great Taco Bar!

Cabin Review

Deluxe Verandah Suite

This they got right! Our Neptune Suite was wonderful. The design was a little outdated -but there was so much room! Great Storage! Nice Seating area with TV. The large bathroom had 2 sinks, a tub and a shower (sadly with a yucky, cheap shower curtain). And the balcony was without a doubt one of the largest we have had on any cruise.
