Chose cruise as Southampton based and 7 days which is all I can be away at the moment. Looked like it would be good with numerous bars, restaurants etc. The ship is new and huge. Too big for the logistics of getting people on and off (especially in La Rochelle where the queue for return shuttles practically blocked the town) and too big for a decent service level in the bars.

Staff generally seemed glum which may well reflect their being overworked. The exception seemed to be in the Minuetto restaurant where altough busy, the staff were always cheerful and in the Casino bar - the best place to get a drink and a seat. The ship is impersonal by nature of the crowds.

The entertainment in the theatre was top drawer, the best thing about the ship. Bar entertainment was probably good too but they were always too full to get a seat and a drink unless you parked early! Parties held in the Promenard deck were noisey and blocked this area each night for an hour, but appealed to the crowds.

Cabin Review

Smaller than previous, but has everything
