Sail Date: Jan 2024

We sought to expand our previous experiences on Pacific cruises on the 2 Solstice ships by booking a similar 10 day voyage ex Sydney on the newer Edge. Despite its classy, even glitzy, appearance, we were disappointed with many aspects of the ship, especially the on-board activities or more correctly lack of activities and entertainment.

Apart from the variable (mostly live & loud) Theatre performances, other live music was extremely limited. Several other passengers agreed with us that life on-board was boring - for both adults and kids! As a result, the pool deck was constantly full of screaming kids - so forget any attempt to actually swim in the pool.

Virtually no educational or information talks were held in the main Theatre. Apart from an occasional 30 min pre-dinner set by the house band, there was little continuous live music in the Grand Plaza, or anywhere else eg no sail-away parties. The list of disappointments is endless.

Cabin Review

Quality cabinetry, functional bathroom. Limited TV options. Reliable internet. Not a fan of the small, semi-enclosed infinity verandah

Port Reviews

Run-down port and town area. Good snorkelling at Million Dollar Point and Beach.

Visited there before. Not a lot to see and do. Should be a shuttle bus to the beach areas.
