Celebrity doesn’t include gratuities in the booking price but you should be aware of their strong pressure tactics to get you to tip what they want you to tip and it is NOT DEPENDENT upon quality of service.

In the old days, you tipped your waiter, room steward, maître d’, etc. based on a the cruise line's recommended amount adjusted for the quality of the service provided you; in other words, you fully decided how much to tip. Be warned, Celebrity’s current process prevents passengers from having full freedom to tip what they want.

I didn’t prepay gratuities so the full amount that Celebrity wants you to tip was charged to my credit card early in the cruise. The amount of gratuity included their rate per person per day for each category: Dining/Culinary Services, Housekeeping Services, Suites Services (didn’t apply to us) and “Other Hotel Services” (not listed what these included).
