My husband and I initially had reservations about going on a cruise and opted for a smaller river cruise on the Seine as our initiation into cruising. Our entire trip was absolutely wonderful and far exceeded our expectations. One of the things that made us forever members of Viking Cruising was our experience at the airport. Pick-up was as promised, but we were absolutely thrilled to be shuttled to our boat as we arrived, not having to wait on other guests. The return was even better. Our shuttles were luxury vans with excellent drivers. At the airport, a Viking rep waited for us and helped us through the entire check-in process in less than 15 minutes. He moved us to the front of line, handled our luggage - it was absolutely wonderful, making the most dreaded part of traveling abroad a breeze.

Our river boat was luxurious, very clean, with great amenities. Our room Stewart and as a matter of fact the entire crew was absolutely marvelous and worked incredibly hard to solve any issue, plan amazing excursions, keep us well-fed, entertained, and just chat if we needed anything.

The only negative was the lack of space for working out. Cold rainy weather kept us from using the outdoor track on the upper deck, and the size of the boat did not allow for space for a fitness room. Also, space was limited during meal times and it was almost impossible to eat alone at a table. If you are very outgoing and love conversations with strangers during every meal, this is perfect for you. We enjoyed this on some occasions but needed some more privacy as the trip went on.

Cabin Review

Although small, our cabin had everything we needed and smart design features allowed us to stow and access everything easily. Did I mention the heated bathroom floors? We selected a stateroom with a French balcony on the second level and were very happy with our choice. The large sliding doors allowed a great view of the river and we enjoyed beautiful sunrises in the morning.

The room had USB and German as well as American outlets which made charging our devises easy. Our Stewart turned down our beds every night and cleaned twice a day. We had filtered water at our disposal and enough soaps and lotions, etc. The water was super hot and shower pressure was great. We really loved our cabin.

Port Reviews

Caudebec

Quaint little medieval town. We loved our tour and the Organ Concert at the local church.
