We choose this cruise largely because it was a new ship. Additionally the itinerary was interesting, starting on the west coast of the US, down west side of Mexico, through the Panama Canal and ending in Miami. Overall the cruise was good even though there were more sea days than we would have preferred. Overall it was a pleasant experience with a couple exceptions: first, I had contacted Oceania by phone prior to the cruise to see if wine was included with meals and I was told it was...it wasn't. We had to pay extra unless we purchased a drink package. Biggest complaint is the excursion to the Everglades we booked through Oceania for the day we arrived in Miami. Oceania's paperwork said we had an excursion and we would be getting off fairly early so we could make the excursion. We did not...several other color groups in their entirety got off before we did. By the time we got off, the excursion guide said we would not make it back to the airport if we did the excursion so they dropped us off at the airport. I and my travel consultant have emailed Oceania about this and asked for a refund (over a month ago) and have gotten no response. Very frustrating. For a high end cruise line, this does not bode well for their customers.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin was very nice. Bathroom was bigger than other cruises we have been on, especially the shower. Seems like the cabin maybe lost some storage space due to the bathroom being bigger. Closet space wasn't huge. Bed was comfortable.

Port Reviews

Cabo San Lucas

We did a four-wheeler adventure along the coast and it was awesome. Most favorite excursion of the cruise for me. Going around the sandy hills along the beach as well as along the beach was fun. Guides were great.

San Diego

We did the amphibious vehicle in the San Diego bay. Very interesting, relaxing and informative. After that excursion we went on the aircraft carrier which was docked close to our cruise ship. Would have liked more time to go through it but it was worth the time we did spend there. If you are in emergency services, you don't have to pay to get on the carrier but you have to have a badge or some sort of ID. I had a fire dept t-shirt and a fire dept hat on but that wasn't proof enough.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We've done it more than once before but we still enjoyed the stingray/snorkeling excursion.
