My husband and I enjoyed our cruise on the Spirit. We embarked in Honolulu with minimum wait times. It was less than 30 minutes from the time we were dropped off at the dock until we were sitting on the ship. The Hawaiian islands were beautiful. We toured the Waikiki Aquarium and ate at Duke's the day before we got on the ship in Honolulu. We walked around town by the cruise port in Kauai and visited the beach nearby. In Maui, we rented a car and went to the National Park, Waimea (the cowboy town), and then went to a couple beaches. It was pouring rain in Hilo. This was the first time in 25 cruises that I didn't even get off the ship. We had 4 sea days and enjoyed them. It rained an average of two or three hours almost every day, but we did go during the rainy season. In Raiatea, we booked an all day snorkeling trip on our own with lunch. After getting rained on for 5 hours, we voted to go back to the ship and skip lunch on the motu made by a French Polynesian family. It finally cleared up for our last two ports - Moorea and Papeete. The staff was exceptional, and the food was very good. We enjoyed the entertainment as well. We put in a bid for a balcony, and it was accepted about a week before the cruise. Although, the balcony was small, we enjoyed sitting out on it during the day. The ship only had about 1400 passengers, so it was not crowded at all. Disembarking was very easy. We did self-embarkation. We were off the ship by 8:30 am and on the ferry headed to Moorea by 10:15. The ferry dock is a short walk away, so we did not have to get a taxi. We would do this cruise again in a heartbeat, but would probably not go during the rainy season.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

The cabin was a decent size, and the bathroom was large enough. The balcony could have been a little bigger.

Port Reviews

Maui

Lots to see especially if you rent a car!

Raiatea

The snorkeling here was very good.
