On this our third Viking River Cruise, we were unexpectedly disappointed and absolutely regretted our purchase. To begin, this nine day cruise itinerary already included four nights in hotels (2 Prague and 2 Berlin). When we were on the ship, the majority of time we were docked. In the five nights on board we sailed for less than 18 hours total.

The included itinerary was very thin. While many Christmas Markets were included, the historic sites were most often viewed from outside. The optional excursions were only marginally better and were significantly overpriced based on content. The Berlin itinerary should be titled, “Berlin at a distance,” as most of the sites were either viewed from the motor coach or from the outside of the building.

Making the whole trip less comfortable was the ineptitude of the cruise Program Director. He was disorganized, a poor communicator and was in fact rude. If this had been our first Viking cruise, it would have been our last.

Cabin Review

French Balcony Stateroom

Beautiful, clean, and bright stateroom. Meticulously cared for by housekeeping. Comfortable beds. French balcony is perfect for viewing without sacrificing living space.
