Special birthday pressie to ourselves. Much prefer a smaller ship and the Pursuit turned out to be only half full which whilst even more comfortable for us must have been a disappointment for Azamara. Did mean there were numerous quiet places around the ship where passengers could sit etc and it was rare to struggle to get a seat anywhere. Despite the obvious spare capacity upgrades were very expensive and Azamara lost a significant amount of income they could have earned if upgrade pricing had been keener.

Balcony cabins were comfortable albeit as pre-warned by other reviews the bathrooms were tight on space particularly the shower. Cabins were kept immaculate by the attentive cabin staff and throughout the ship service was excellent e.g. breakfast in cabin at no extra charge.

Food choice and quality was brilliant …..so much so that there didn’t seem to be sufficient reason to pay extra to eat in the two speciality restaurants Aqualina and Prime C. Did try Aqualina one time and enjoyed the event but perhaps not worth the extra £100 for two people.

Cabin Review

Big enough apart from bathroom. Very comfy bed and attentive cabin staff kept everything immaculate. Had cabin 7072 quite near self service laundry but noise from that wasn’t a problem. Was very convenient for keeping dirty washing to a minimum.

Port Reviews

Cape Town

Capetown was excellent. Nice hotels, excellent restaurants and value for money. Compared to other South African towns visited it felt generally safe with a good street presence of security personnel.
