When we first embarked, we were somewhat disconcerted to see such a huge boat and so many people all arriving, it seemed, at the same time. But our anxieties were soon allayed by the amazing efficiency of the whole embarkation experience. It was so smoothly carried out and everyone seemed to disappear in no time at all. Although we were too early for our staterooms to be available, we were invited to a fantastic buffet lunch with an amazing selection of salads, which was standard every day. We soon came to see that we were in for a fantastic trip. Even though our stateroom at first glance seemed somewhat restricted, we discovered how creatively it was designed, with cupboards in every nook and cranny and plenty of hanging space too. The towels were thick and endlessly replaced, shaped into fun creations on our bed, glasses on the nose of a "bunny" or a crab or some other animal. As we explored the boat we found that it offered a remarkable mix of comfortable holiday sailing accomodation and noticed how spotless it was. We also observed how many interesting and enjoyable facilities there were on board which certainly could meet the requirements of any age group or background. The food was outstanding, the service could not be faulted, the crew are all very friendly and helpful at all times. Some of our group ordered kosher food, which was prepacked and variable in quality. The head waiter made sure we had specially cooked fish and vegetables in foil that met our religious requirements and was absolutely delicious. He could not have been more helpful. And when we just wanted to relax, the different deck spaces offered us leasure time with music, dancing, reading quietly, sunning ourselves in the good weather, swimming indoors or out, so that you never felt that there were too many people on board. The boat, was, in fact totally booked out with more than two thousand and two hundred passengers. This itinerary was particularly interesting as it offered St.Petersburg, Riga, Gdansk and Visby, all fascinating glimpses into a past heritage. Furthermore the trips were so well organised that you never had to wait in queues to get off the boat or return to the boat - it was all done with extreme efficiency and always friendly and helpful service. We didnt go to the shows as we prefered to play bridge at night but we did dance, as the different music groups for dancing were fantastic - people just had to get up and dance! Also there was such a friendly atmosphere everywhere, despite so many different nationalities. By the time the week was over it was quite a wrench to leave the boat and couldnt wait to start planning our next cruise.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin H

Although restricted space, it had plenty of cupboard space and the bed was comfortable. The only problem was storage of cases. It would have been better to have storage under the bed because we had no room to put our hand luggage and then the space was more cluttered.
