Not Enchanting! Ship needs to be mothballed. A disgrace to Royal Caribbean fleet!

Sail Date: Dec 2023

Enchantment of the Seas is the oldest ship in the RC fleet and needs to be sent to the scrap yard! The ship is very dated with lots of rust and broken parts (public bathrooms, cabins that creak like a coffin, poor layout of decks, etc.). We've been on several RC ships and this one is not on par with Royal Caribbean's other ships (e.g. Serenity of the Seas). We do NOT recommend anyone cruise on Enchantment until it is either fully refurbished or, better yet, scrapped.

The cabin walls creaked like an old wooden coffin (and we thought a few times that it might end up being our coffin) and the finishes and furnishings were very dated and in disrepair. This ship does not normally sail out of Tampa and we will NEVER cruise on it again but rather wait until the other (newer) quality ships come back to Tampa. RC are you listening?

The staff did not seem as friendly as normal for RC and they did not appear to want to be on it either. One of the two hot tubs was broken for the entire cruise and one of the tenders (the actual lifeboats used on the ship) broke down and left us stranded on the water in Roatan for about an hour. The entire tender process in Roatan was comical at best and utterly unsafe and unacceptable. The newer ships got to dock at Roatan and we had to tender in. Just another reason to avoid this ship at all costs.

Cabin Review

Cabin walls creaked like a coffin! Many broken bathroom fixtures and entire glass walls in the solarium banged and wobbled in the wind. The entire ship needs to be tightened up and refurbished. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". Lesson learned--the hard way.
