The Viking Polaris Antarctica

Adventure cruise was an unbelievable experience. The ship is state of the art and offers everything from kayaking to submarines to boat and zodiac excursions. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Special accolades to Ahmed, our room steward; Mega, the waitress who was so attentive and remembered our drink preference after just one visit; Brindi, the head scientist aboard, who delivered informative lectures, interesting workshops and explanations, and even launched a weather balloon and invited us back to see the incoming data; and Marc, the head of expeditions, who always greeted us as if he really knew us and organized all the outdoor excursions and activities so efficiently. But really,, each crew member deserves thanks, I just wish I could name them all. There are presentations, hands on workshops, and documentaries to fill your time aboard. The food is beautifully presented and very good. The entire operation runs like clockwork; there were absolutely no glitches for the entire two weeks. Even the transfers from and back to airports were handled incredibly well; Viking personnel were inside the departure airport to facilitate check-in and lead us to a reserved room for a pre-flight meal. I truly have never experienced an operation that ran so effortlessly.

Kudos to the entire crew and management..

Cabin Review

Deluxe Nordic Balcony

Small, but incredibly comfortable cabin. Included heated floor in bathroom; drying closet, so clothing would be ready for next excursion; ample closet and drawer space; and a window that lowered half-way, so that you could take pictures right from your cabin with no glass pane barrier.
