My husband and I (retired, 65 and 70) have been indulging in high end travel since we became empty nesters, but our last cruise was in 1997 with kids. We’ve been receiving catalogs from Viking for years and this year the lure of unpacking only once was strong and Europe at Christmas was enticing.

On the positive side -

We booked our own travel and made our way to the Magni without any issue. Public spaces on board were attractive with beverages (tea, coffee, water) and snacks (cookies) available in the lounge. Our Veranda Stateroom was generous with blessedly ample storage and no shortage of outlets (we packed plug converters). Our steward was very responsive supplying us with wine glasses (we brought two bottles) and a bottle of sparkling water in addition to the regular water bottle in the room. The shower worked fine, the toilet did occasional delayed flushes

Cabin Review

Veranda Superior

Spacious, lots of storage, adequate bathroom (toilet sometimes with a delayed flush), sufficient electrical outlets. Likely spent more time there than we would have in warmer weather.
