We thought this would be a wonderful, relaxing cruise. Embarcation took hours, even with a designated time to arrive. I had expected that it might be a little cold or rough going out of the Golden Gate, which it was, but it only got worse. I had tried to find out what a Pacific crossing would be like, but I couldn't find any information. It was cold and very rough, day after day. The ship itself was quite tired. The inside temperature varied widely, really hot some places, really cold others. Several sections of the ship reeked of sewage (not just once buy continually). In each bathroom there was at least one broken toilet. Most of the entertainment was just so-so. Not much variety in activities. By the time we got to Hawaii, we had pretty much done everything and some many times. In our cabin the decor was quite dated, the lighting was poor, the bed had two deep troughs in it, the balcony had a large dip in it covered with a rubbery mat and the balcony door was duct taped. We enjoyed Hawaii, just did things on our own. The food on the ship was mediocre at best. The crossing east was even rougher and longer. It felt like forever. Finally got to some calm waters and sunshine in Mexican waters, it was great! For one day. Ensenada was awful. Two hours at night in a sketchy area. De-embarcation went super smoothly. But the one bright spot and I will commend Princess on this, the staff was amazing! They were friendly, helpful, polite, professional and seemed to genuinely care about us.
