We received a wonderful offer for this cruise. We had never been to Alaska and the Luminosa was recently acquired by Carnival from Costa and appeared to be a great medium size ship. The room attendant was wonderful, however, the ship looked very dated ('80s Euro) design which was disappointing. To start, there was a vibration that continued throughout the trip. Then, we had trouble with the Carnival APP regarding dinner reservations. The app dinner reservation site on the app opened precisely at 5:pm and you could click on the button to reserve exactly at 5:pm and you would still get reservations for an hour later. The menu's were less than average but the quality of the food was terrible in the MDR. We were served chicken breast that you could use for a hockey puck and steak that was as tough as shoe leather. The food on the Lido deck buffet was average. The offerings in the Steak House was terrific. We did not win anything in the casinos...NOTHING. The shows in the main theater were nothing more than 3rd rate garage bands. The band in the plaza was very good and we were there every night if possible. The sights at the ports and in the fjord were wonderful. All in all, if it hadn't been for the initial great offer, I would really be upset with Carnival regarding this cruise.

Cabin Review

The cabin was adequate, remember that this is a European ship so be sure to bring European outlet adapters.
