We flew from London Heathrow to Miami 2 days before the cruise via British Airways. Flight was on time and very pleasant with great food and service onboard. On reaching Miami we were transferred to Tony Hotel on South Beach where we stayed for 2 nights. Hotel was art deco style and in an excellent location next to many bars and restaurants. We had a very pleasant stay in Miami and did a hop on hop off bus tour and cruise around the harbour area which was great.

On the day of the cruise, we were transferred from our hotel to Everglades cruise port in Fort Lauderdale. Check in was swift and we were on this elegant ship before 1pm. The ship was around 20 years old but we loved all the interior spaces like bars, restaurants, theatre, library, other smaller lounges etc. There were 2 pools, one with a roof cover which could be opened and another open pool at the back of the ship. The buffet area was adequate but seemed always crowded. However we enjoyed the food there for lunch. For breakfast and dinner, we usually dined in the main restaurant which was always more pleasant and relaxed.

Our cabins were ready as soon as we boarded and hence we went straight to our balcony cabin on deck 8 to drop off our hand luggage. Loved the cabin as it was quite big with a sofa, chair, large screen interactive TV opposite the king sized bed. The balcony was decent size with 2 chairs, table and 2 leg rest stools. The bathroom had a bath with shower over the bath, small sink and toilet. Plenty of storage in bathroom and rest of the cabin. However we didn't like the shower as it didn't have a decent power. Also the sink tap sprayed water and hence sometimes water went everywhere. Also the toilet got blocked twice durijg the cruise and had to call out an engineer to fix it. I guess this is where the age of the ship really showed.

Cabin Review

Well appointed balcony cabin with lots of storage space. Shame about the shower in the bathroom which lacked power and toilet which kept getting blocked. Also sink tap sprayed water which was strange.
