Sail Date: Dec 2023
Cabin: Ocean View

We chose this short cruise because we really enjoy this size of ship. We sailed on Radiance when she was brand new, and again some years ago. Despite the ships age, it is very well maintained and kept up so well. We were impressed at how good it looked both inside and out. The attention to cleaning was evident everywhere. The staff was so friendly and helpful at every turn. We chose an outside cabin with large window on deck 3 forward close to the front elevators. This was a great location and very quiet at night. The cabin was in good condition, showing some wear on furniture, but the room was very comfortable and clean. Our cabin steward was very attentive and gave us the option of morning or evening cabin prep. We chose evening, and as we left for dinner he was always in the hallway to say hi and good evening. There was plenty to do both day and night. Entertainment in the various lounges were all very good, the production shows were just ok. Headliner (juggler/comedian) was the best of the shows. Dining room is beautiful and well-staffed, however tables are pushed real close together as to create problems navigating to your table. Menu choices on RC have been reduced, Food was still good but not fantastic. However we did not have to cook or clean, so never complained. Casino is small and very crowded, also not very kind and rewarding to slot players, lol. Overall a beautiful grand lady ship with great staff, good food and options for food, good entertainment overall, and very well maintained and clean. Would highly recommend this ship for short trips or long if you prefer.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

cabin, very close to front elevators and mid ship elevators close by, large outside window, cabin was very clean and manageable size for two people. Beware small bathroom with shower curtain, problem with water on bath floor after shower, but not a big problem. Very quiet room and location.

Port Reviews

Costa Maya

beautiful newer port, but your typical shops. Its a long walk if the shuttle tram is not running from ship pier to land.

Has not changed in years and needs a makeover. If you book an excursion, you are paraded thru many shops as you zig zag to the excursion pick up. Its a very long walk and shop owners are very aggressive, especially on return to the ship from excursions. Not our favorite port.

Easy parking close to ships, friendly port staff...highly recommend for the extra $20 using Valet parking at this port. Valet drop off is at the ship drop off and they helped with unloading luggage, and when we returned our car was delivered in 5 mins, also helped us load up our luggage when we left port. Its a great convenience.
